COMEBACK! The Iron Ranger in a cognac-colored leather is back! The 8000 Iron Ranger in Oro-Legacy leather combines one of our most popular leathers with one of our most legendary silhouettes! Many, many years ago, there used to be a very similar model: the 8112 Iron Ranger in Oro-Iriginal leather. Alongside the classic 8111 Iron Ranger in Amber Harness, this style was considered an absolute staple in our stores in the early 2010s and enjoyed immense popularity among our customers. About 10 years ago, the 8112 Iron Ranger disappeared from the collection, and now we finally have it back with a slight twist! We’re familiar with the Oro-Legacy leather used here from icons like the 875 Moc Toe or the 877 Irish Setter. A beautiful patina is guaranteed! Aside from that, the 8000 Iron Ranger is similar to our other Iron Ranger models, featuring a sturdy Vibram 430 Minilug sole. The recessed tread pattern in the sole provides better traction on unpredictable terrain without adding bulk. The proven Goodyear welted construction ensures maximum durability and the ability to resole this shoe, just like all our Red Wings.
The name of this shoe can be traced back to the Mesabi Iron Range in northern Minnesota, where many decades ago, miners needed a shoe that could withstand the harsh conditions there. The toe cap, reinforced with extra leather, and the reinforced heel construction withstood even the toughest conditions back then. The light brown Oro-Legacy leather from our in-house S.B. Foot Tannery is one of the most popular hues by the Red Wing SHoe Company.
