Red Wing Munson Ranger 8011
With the 8011 Munson Ranger, the next Red Wing Shoe Store Special for this year hits our shelfs. This highly limited model, prior only sold in Japan, is now exclusively available only through the european Red Wing Shoe Stores, which are allowed to sell a small number of this very special shoe. This model orientates itself on the popular Iron Ranger, however, standing out with some slight, but special changes and features. The last of the 8011 is a little wider giving the wearer maximum comfort and space. Invented by US army doctor Edward Munson in the 1910’s, who wanted to create a last for field boots that is not constructed on contemporary „fashion“ but on anatomy this is where the Munson Ranger has it‘s name from. Another special feature is the brogue cap with it’s openwork. Originally this was part of the Red Wing Skytrooper Parachute Boots, which were developed by the comapany in the 1940’s and were first used by the US Army Paratroopers. The White Ash Settler leather, which is made by the company own S.B. Foot tannery completes the list of exclusive attributes on the 8011 Munson Ranger. Starting with a bright, almost beige colour, the patina will develop into a warm cognac tone. The 8011 is the only style that is equipped with this leather type.
Side Note: By using the Munson Last, this model fits a bit wider than our other styles.
